The iHunter Alberta application stands out as a comprehensive tool for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts in Alberta, offering an organized approach to understanding the province's wildlife management units (WMUs). By seamlessly overlaying WMUs onto base maps, users can easily identify their current location and determine the relevant WMU for their hunting activities.

This app encourages user engagement by allowing individuals to add personal waypoints to the map, which can be useful for tracking preferred hunting spots, documenting past animal harvests, and storing landowner contact information. Subscribing to iHunter's services provides deeper insights into specific WMUs, including details about open seasons for big game, predators, and game birds.

<li>Access multiple satellite, topographic, and road maps that are automatically cached for offline use.</li>

<li>Utilize the sunrise/sunset calculator to determine legal hunting times at your current location or any waypoint.</li>

<li>Display weather information at your current location or any waypoint (internet connection needed).</li>
<li>Access First Nations Reserve boundaries.</li>
<li>Import waypoints and tracks from GPX, KML, and KMZ files.</li>
<li>Track position, speed, and altitude; draw over maps; conduct searches; view recently viewed items; and manage favorites. (Note: Continuous GPS use in the background can considerably reduce battery life).</li>
